Before Using Public Toilet, Keep These Things Related to Hygiene in Mind. What Women Should Consider Before Using Public Toilet

A strange kind of thought comes to mind as soon as the name of a public toilet is taken. Actually, the condition of public toilets in India is very bad. In a way, they can also cause UTIs. For women, using the toilet somewhere outside the house can prove to be very bad. The situation is such that many times while dealing with the stench, one has to relieve himself by ripping the dirt, but even then the risk of UTI remains.

Using public toilets not only puts you at risk of UTI but also many other diseases. We spoke to Vikas Bagaria, Founder, of Pee Safe, to find out what are some things you need to keep in mind while using public restrooms.

Avoid touching common surfaces

The first tip that you should keep in mind in such public restrooms is that you should not touch the common surfaces. Actually, dangerous bacteria like e-coli are also present in public toilets and hence it is important that you avoid touching them. You can find many bacteria and viruses here, from Kovid-19 to E-coli. If you want, use tissue before touching such places or if you have to touch, then use sanitizer immediately.

Use a face mask

has taught us one thing very well we should use face masks in public places. This is also necessary for public restrooms. Actually, research believes that we inhale the bacteria that fly in the bathroom while flushing. In such a situation, it would be very problematic in a public place. That's why you must wear a disposable mask while using a public toilet. This will prove to be better for security.

Don't squat too much

Women mostly try to squat because the toilet seat is very dirty. But world famous gynecologist Dr. Tanaya aka Dr. Cuteras believes that due to this she weakens her pelvic floor.

Doing so increases the condition of pelvic prolapse. Pelvic prolapse is a condition in which the organs of the pelvic floor drop down and believe me, it happens to many women.

Practice washing hands with soap and water

Mostly we wash our hands only with water after using the toilet, but this is not the case with public toilets. You should wash your hands with soap in public restrooms. Don't think that just by using sanitizer your work will be done. Both soap and water are necessary and you have to keep in mind that it is necessary to clean the hands thoroughly from between the fingers to kill the bacteria. If your nails are big, then clean the nails too.
